World War III: President Wilson's Dream and the New World Order

| | Source: REPUBLIKA Translated from Indonesian | Politics

A new world order is replacing the current global system. This constitutes an ‘utopia’ amidst the chaos of contemporary international law. The conspiracy hypothesis, disguised as ‘unipolar euphemism’, is in fact a covert form of totalitarianism that undermines the sacred conventions established after World War II.

Venezuela, Iran, and Gaza represent three stark examples of how conspiratorial forces and unipolar dominance destroy internationally agreed institutions and agreements. The commitment to ‘unipolarism’ and the dominance of a single power centre prevents those seeking to resolve conflicts through international law from proceeding.

The covert totalitarian system renders international law toothless. Decisions from the UN Security Council, the International Criminal Court (ICC), UN assistance programmes, and determinations on occupied territories cannot be executed. Violations cannot be prosecuted.

The world, reflected through the cases of Venezuela, Iran, and Gaza, is now moving towards global governance. Visibly, this threatens to replace the sovereign nation-state system.

Through Venezuela, Iran, and Gaza—treated as normalised practice—a totalitarian plot is constructed, wrapped in various ‘soft’ arguments. Yet it remains fundamentally imbalanced.

The current geopolitical imbalance is sustained by two key actors who support each other. The United States is the sole nation dominating the military, political, and economic order, unopposed. Meanwhile, Israel functions as a semi-proxy force.

The deaths of 72,000 Palestinians in Gaza could have been minimised to less than a quarter of this number. With significant influence over global institutions (the UN, NATO, and the IMF), the United States should have been able to mediate early intervention.

The absence of a peer competitor has left the United States trapped in defending an unwinnable position, bound to Israel’s positioning and emotional conviction that it was attacked first. The clinic argument centres on self-defence.

In a world filled with temptations, the United States could actually warn Israel against overreach. Although Trump recognises the strength of the Jewish Congress in America—the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)—respecting the UN is a necessity. The United States created the UN.

AIPAC plays a critical role in lobbying for Israeli interests within the US administration. Nearly every elected American President has been entangled with AIPAC. This organisation finances political campaigns and influences American foreign policy.

AIPAC’s role is also significant in ensuring bipartisan support from both the Republican and Democratic parties for Israel. Thus, regardless of who wins the US elections, AIPAC sees no difference.
