World surfing c'ship in Nias
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia will host three series of next year's world surfing championship, Dahlan Nasution of North Sumatra's surfers association said yesterday in Medan, the province's capital.
The Sorake beach on the Nias island of North Sumatra province will host the first series, the qualifying round, from June 23 to June 29 next year.
The second and third series, for which no date has so far been fixed, will be held in Bali and East Java's Grajakan. The decision was made in a meeting among the world surfers body, the Australian Surfers Association and the Indonesian Surfers Association in Bali recently, Antara reported. (arf)
