World press photo expo opens

JAKARTA (JP): The World Press Photo exhibition opens today at
the National Archives building on Jl. Gajah Mada III.

Minister of Information Harmoko is scheduled to open the event
at 5 p.m. The display runs until April 26.

According to organizers, the exhibition features the best 200
photographs from 29,885 entries in the international contest.

The entries came from 2,997 photographers from 97 countries.

The display, supported here by the Erasmus Huis Dutch cultural
center, travels annually. It can be seen each year in 40
