The World Peace Parliamentary Caucus, formed on the initiative of members of Indonesia’s DPR-DPD RI, will campaign for global peace and the halt to conflict escalation at various embassies of relevant countries in Indonesia.

Ahmad Doli Kurnia, a member of the DPR RI from the Golkar Party faction, stated that this step is taken in response to geopolitical dynamics following the escalation of conflict between the United States (US)-Israel and Iran.

“One of the important agendas will be visiting the embassies of the involved countries, yes, America, then Iran, perhaps countries in the Gulf, yes,” Doli said to reporters at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 6 April 2026.

Doli explained that the Parliamentary Caucus will also visit embassies of countries that have chosen not to be involved in the war.

“For example, European countries,” he stated.

He described the caucus, which has 30 members, as a form of concern and a moral and political movement by Indonesia’s parliament to uphold the constitutional mandate of achieving world peace.

The formation of the caucus stems from the increasingly critical global situation due to ongoing wars in recent years.

“Actually, this war started in 2022, yes, when Russia versus Ukraine, then in 2023 there was Israel’s invasion of Palestine, it didn’t stop, and then it continued in the last two or three months with US-Israel versus Iran,” he revealed.

The impact of the war is felt by the global community, including Indonesia. Not only threatened by energy and economic crises, physical impacts have also been experienced when three TNI soldiers were killed due to Israel’s attack on United Nations peacekeeping forces in Lebanon.

“Of course, we cannot let this happen, we cannot remain silent, so we agreed to take the initiative to form the World Peace Parliamentary Caucus,” he said.

The number of caucus members is projected to increase, along with expanded communication to other parliament members.

Doli added that political party backgrounds are set aside in this caucus.

“Of course, we hope this movement becomes increasingly widespread, not only to us who are involved as initiators and declarators, but also to the existing institutions,” he stated.
