JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Workers hope that the Work From Home (WFH) policy implemented by the government every Friday to save energy can have more days added.

“My hope is that the WFH can continue, hopefully the days can be increased in a week, from just one day to two days a week,” said one private sector worker named Sabila (27) when interviewed by Kompas.com in the Manggarai area, South Jakarta, on Monday (4/5/2026).

By working from home, Sabila feels she can get a new atmosphere and not feel too bored in the office.

Not only that, she also feels comfortable working from home because she can take care of her young child who is still a toddler at the same time.

Nevertheless, Sabila feels that coming to the office is still necessary to maintain productivity.

“Because if it’s full WFH, it’s actually less effective,” she said.

She admitted that her work focus at home often breaks because her daughter is always curious about what her parents are doing.

Not infrequently, Sabila’s laptop, which is being used for work, is taken over by her daughter.

To work comfortably, she usually takes time to put her daughter to sleep according to the schedule.

While her daughter is sleeping, Sabila can rush through all her work so that it can be completed on time.

Meanwhile, one Civil Servant (ASN) named Kiky (29) hopes that the WFH programme can be implemented flexibly and proportionately.

“I hope WFH can continue to be implemented flexibly and proportionately, like now which is only one day a week,” said Kiky when contacted by Kompas.com on Monday.

This is because, even with WFH, ASNs are still required to work optimally and routinely carry out online attendance.

In fact, Kiky, who works in public relations, must always be on standby in front of her phone, because she is worried about sudden assignments.
