Women's group hail 82 years

JAKARTA (JP): The city branch of the Aisyiyah women's group of
the Muhammadiyah Islamic mass organization is celebrating its
82nd anniversary Saturday.

Fifteen thousand people are expected to attend the
celebrations at the Istora Senayan Indoor Sports Stadium, Central
Jakarta, an event committee member said yesterday.

Amien Rais, chairman of Muhammadiyah, which claims to have 25
million members, will address participants.

Various activities are planned including talks for teenagers
on harmful drugs and alcohol.

Aisyiyah was set up on April 22, 1917, in Yogyakarta. (anr)
