The body of a woman identified by the initials DH (56) was found in a skeletal state in Meruyung, Limo, Depok, West Java. According to witnesses, the victim frequently became involved in disputes with her informal husband. ‘According to the statement of the RT head initialled SS, that there had been a history of domestic disputes between the victim and her informal husband,’ said Cinere Police Chief, Kompol Chairul Saleh, to reporters on Sunday (8/3/2026). The victim reportedly lived with her informal husband. However, the whereabouts of the informal husband are unknown. ‘That the victim lived daily with her informal husband. The whereabouts of the victim’s informal husband at present are not known,’ he added. Chronology The police explained that the victim’s body, identified as DH (56), was found by the victim’s daughter and her partner, who had come to clean the house. ‘Witness R and witness L came to the victim’s house in the morning for the purpose of cleaning the house,’ he said. The two witnesses came to the victim’s house for the second time since February 2026. At that time, L and R went to the victim’s house after information from their aunt, initialled T, that the victim was staying at a friend’s house in Sukabumi, West Java. ‘Thus the victim’s house was empty. Upon receiving this information, witness L planned to come to the victim’s house to clean,’ he explained. In February 2026, L and R came to the victim’s house with the gate lock bolted from the outside. L and R then forced the lock open. ‘After the lock was opened, witnesses L and R entered towards the house door and found the door not locked,’ he noted. L and R entered the house when it was already in a state of disarray. Witness L briefly saw piles of clothing on the floor. ‘At that time the witnesses did not suspect anything as they did not smell any odd odour from inside the room,’ he stated. Because the house was in a state of disarray, L and R postponed cleaning the interior area of the house. They only cleaned the yard. After cleaning the yard, L and R left the victim’s house and replaced the gate’s lock with a new one. On Friday (6/3) at 23:00 WIB, L and R returned to the victim’s house and slept in the living room. ‘According to witnesses L and R, their purpose for returning to the victim’s house was to continue cleaning the interior of the house,’ he explained. Then, on Saturday (7/3), around 09:00 WIB, witnesses L and R began cleaning the interior area and divided tasks. Witness L cleaned the central area and the bedrooms. Witness R began cleaning the bedrooms and planned to place the pile of clothes into a plastic bag. ‘When witness R lifted the carpet from the pile of clothes, she suddenly saw a pair of human feet in a state where only bones were visible and the skin was dried,’ he said. After seeing this, witnesses R and L reported to the local RT head and informed Cinere Police to pursue the case. The case is currently under police investigation.
