Wismoyo to tour East Timor

JAKARTA (JP): The new chairman of the National Sports Council (KONI), Wismoyo Arismunandar, will make his first trip to East Timor next week, where he is scheduled to meet local sports figures and swear in a number of new sport officials.

Executive chairman of the East Timor sports governing body Domingos MD Soares told reporters in Dili yesterday that the sports community in the province did not expect Wismoyo to come that early.

"It's a surprise. We are very pleased to know that KONI cares about our efforts in developing sports here," Soares was quoted by Antara as saying. (amd)
