Wisma Dharmala Sakti, a building of art
Wisma Dharmala Sakti, a building of art
Looking at the architecture of Wisma Dharmala Sakti, or upon
entering the lobby of building, located on Jl. Sudirman, people
get a distinctive impression: it is a building of art.
The office building situated in Jakarta's Central Business
District (CBD), was designed by the late Paul Rudolph, a well-
known American architect. Just like other Rudolph designs, Wisma
Dharmala Sakti has a very strong character.
Rudolph adopted it from Indonesian architecture and he was
very good at applying local character to the building's design.
He also designed Wisma Dharmala Surabaya.
Wisma Dharmala Sakti, officially beginning operations in 1987
and exhibited in Museum of Modern Arts, New York, is represented
by its tropical character.
The building's unique character and design also creates
excellent natural lighting and air circulation. In addition, each
office has a terrace. At dusk, lighting strengthens the
building's unique image.
Therefore, working in an office at Wisma Dharmala Sakti,
developed, owned and managed by PT Dharmala Intiland, definitely
has its pluses.
Also, the significance of "the art of the building" is also
complemented by the establishment of several facilities which
also present their own uniqueness.
The facilities include a friendly and cozy lobby which is
beautified with a lounge as the core of the entrance. It is also
glamorized with music from a piano.
Such facilities aim to strengthen Rudolph's pioneering ideas
to have a tremendous impact on modern architecture.
Dharmala Intiland's general manager for marketing, Mudjianto,
said, "We want to offer a sense of the art in this building.
Regularly, there are also showings related to art such as
painting exhibitions, cultural and classic music performance."
He said that all of the facilities were offered to serve the
building's tenants.
"The lounge, operated by Excelso, is situated at the lobby's
center. So, it is a good place for a meeting point as well as for
relaxing by tense workers," he said.
Many executives frequently seek out such a lounge or cafe to
enjoy a good quality cup of coffee, he added.
Mudjianto said that Wisma Dharmala Sakti also offered other
prime, unique facilities for executives working at the office
building. These include a fitness center, a food court, a beauty
salon, function rooms, a children's day care center and a
facility for spiritual guidance called Dharmacitta Center.
Dharmala Intiland's marketing manager, Lukas Bong, said that
all of the facilities were aimed to make the building more quiet
enjoyment to tenants, particularly executives and employees
working there.
"The function room, able to accommodate up to 120 people, is
excellent for a company that wants to hold a conference or other
activities in a spacious room," he said.
He said that the food court at Wisma Dharmala Sakti was able
to accommodate up to 200 people.
The children's day-care center operates daily from 8 a.m. to 6
p.m., and is useful for working parents whose children are under
three years.
Lukas said the children's day care center was run by trained
professionals who are familiar with handling young children, with
educational programs at the center created by experts.
Other facilities at Wisma Dharmala include a spacious indoor
parking lot, security, cable television and executive elevators.
To offer the best service to tenants in this information era,
Wisma Dharmala Sakti has introduced a Fiber Optic Communications
System and Internet connection. The facilities, prepared in
collaboration with state-owned telecommunications company PT
Telkom and Internet service provider Uninet, will facilitate
tenants who want high-speed wireless access to the Internet.
These facilities will be important for all businesses in the
future.
All of the facilities have set Wisma Dharmala Sakti apart from
other high-rise office buildings in the capital's CBD. Many
regard the building as one of the most convenient places to work
as well as enjoy other activities in Jakarta.
Lukas said that leading local and overseas multinational
companies and organizations were tenants at Wisma Dharmala Sakti,
considering its distinctive facilities.
Tenants include the Embassy of Tunisia, the European Union
Office, China Airlines and Garuda Indonesia's sales office.
As a leading property company, PT Dharmala Intiland was
awarded the ISO9002 certification in 1995 from SGS for property
management. The company is the first property management firm to
win such a certificate.
In addition to Wisma Dharmala Sakti, PT Dharmala Intiland owns
several other properties, including Menara Era at Segitiga Senen,
Wisma Sarinah on Jl. Majapahit in Central Jakarta, Menteng Prada
Apartment & Shopping Center on Jl. Pegangsaan Timur in Central
Jakarta, Graha Pratama on Jl. M.T. Haryono in East Jakarta, and
