Wilmar Clarifies Position on Purbaya's CPO Export Allegations
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Wilmar International Limited has responded to allegations by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who named the company as one of ten suspected of under-invoicing and transfer pricing in crude palm oil (CPO) exports.
In a Singapore Exchange (SGX) filing, Wilmar clarified it has not received any official notification regarding the investigation mentioned in the article. The company is collaborating with relevant authorities to understand the government’s concerns.
‘If and when we receive official notification that Wilmar is under investigation for alleged under-invoicing and transfer pricing in exports, we will promptly update the market,’ the company stated in a press release, cited on Friday, 29 May 2026.
Previously, Purbaya alleged that ten companies sold CPO to Singapore-based traders, then re-exported the cargo to the US at up to 50% higher prices, potentially harming Indonesia. The minister named Wilmar, Musim Mas, and Salim Ivomas Pratama as suspected firms.
However, when questioned about potential sanctions, Purbaya could not confirm any details but urged the companies to comply with regulations and pay appropriately.
