Why reject the poll watchdog?

Why reject the poll watchdog?

From Merdeka

Most government officials have rejected the Independent
Election Monitoring Committee. What are they afraid of?

After 50 years of independence, the government should be wiser
and more mature. Is our sense of nationalism on the decline?
Isn't the Pancasila promotion agency reaching its target of
nation and character building? Why don't we leave democracy to
develop without coercion.

It is no secret that there is a camouflaged campaign going on,
most of it covered on television. Government officials tour the
provinces financed by state money. At the same time they make
themselves available for party members and campaigning purposes,
"killing two birds with one stone." The other political parties,
however, have no such privileges.

In my opinion, it would be more beneficial if the funds used
for these tours were allocated for social programs such as the
building of hospitals or the development of eastern Indonesia.
