Where are we headed?
Where are we headed?
From Rakyat Merdeka
Corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN) in Indonesia must be
completely eradicated on an integrated basis. Otherwise, this
country will go bankrupt.
To eradicate KKN, the law must be enforced. As justice can be
bought, the state needs to ensure that its people do not consider
violating the law.
The main law violations occur in executive, legislative and
judicial institutions, and as such it is unlikely that Indonesia
will become a just and prosperous country in the near future.
Therefore, a situation must be created in which the public is
convinced that the state has clear and definite national
objectives. Then all state and private institutions could act to
achieve these objectives.
At this point we may wonder where our state and private
institutions are heading.
At this juncture, we could decide that two political parties
are enough for Indonesia. One could deal with justice and the
other with prosperity. Look at the United States, the champion of
democracy and liberty. There are only two major parties there,
the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. A multitude of
parties reflects a nation's confusion.
I hope to get a response from anybody concerned with the
future of this nation.
