JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - TNI soldiers are bringing free healthcare services directly to various remote areas of Papua to reach communities that have long faced limitations in accessing medical facilities.

In an official statement from the TNI’s Information Centre (Puspen), the soldiers are seen visiting villages and residential areas directly.

“The healthcare services provided include general examinations, health education, provision of vitamins for children to prevent stunting, and treatment for minor wounds,” said the TNI’s Head of Information Centre, Major General TNI Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, in his statement on Saturday (2/5/2026).

Personnel from the Task Force of Yonif 200/BN provided dental health and hand hygiene education to students at Inpres Mbua Primary School, Mbua District, on Saturday (25/4/2026).

The education aims to instil habits of clean and healthy living from an early age.

In another location, personnel from the RI-PNG Border Task Force of Yonif 136/Tuah Sakti through Pos Nume conducted a mobile treatment for residents of Nume District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, on Monday (27/4/2026).

Similar activities were also carried out by personnel from the Task Force of Yonif 711/Raksatama in Bibida District, Paniai Regency, Central Papua, on Tuesday (28/4/2026), by directly visiting residents’ living areas.

Meanwhile, health personnel from Pos Pirime of the Task Force Yonif 511/DY also provided free medicines and vitamins to the community in Wenam Village, Pirime District, Lanny Jaya Regency, on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

Aulia stated that these healthcare services are part of the TNI’s commitment to helping overcome the difficulties faced by communities in assignment areas.

According to him, this proactive outreach will continue to ensure that people in remote areas still receive proper healthcare services.

“This action is real proof that the unity of TNI and the people is not just a slogan, but a manifestation of the state’s presence to the remotest parts of the country,” said Aulia.
