Wheelchair-Bound Fugitive Boy Arrested in Drugs Case Linked to Former Bima Police Narcotics Chief
JAKARTA — A fugitive in a drugs case linked to AKP Malaungi, the former head of narcotics at Bima Police, named Abdul Hamid, alias Boy, arrived at the National Police Criminal Investigations Directorate (Bareskrim) building on Thursday, 12 March 2026, in the evening.
According to Kompas.com observations, Boy arrived at 21.13 WIB. He emerged from a black Daihatsu Xenia and sat in the rear passenger seat. He was wearing a grey T-shirt. He then descended and walked unsteadily towards a wheelchair that was being held by several officers.
Boy’s right leg was wrapped in bandages, though the reason for the bandaging remains unknown. He was subsequently transported by officers to the lift.
During initial questioning, the suspect confessed to depositing 1.6 billion rupiah to the former head of narcotics at Bima Police, AKP Malaungi.
“On Tuesday, 10 March 2026 at 20:00 WIB, a joint team moved to the residence of Dedde Hananda on Jalan Sungai Raya Dalam Gang Radja, RT 011/RW007, Sungai Raya District, Kubu Raya Regency, Pontianak, and successfully secured A. Hamid, alias Boy, at a warehouse adjacent to Dedde Hananda’s residence,” said Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of the Narcotics Crime Division at Bareskrim Polri, in his statement on Thursday.
Eko stated that the arrest was conducted after the team received information regarding Boy’s whereabouts, as he was on the list of wanted persons (DPO).
On 9 March 2026 at around 14:30 WIB, the team had located Abdul Hamid at a guest house called 9-Haan Guest House in Pontianak. However, when the location was checked, the target was no longer present.
The team subsequently received new information regarding another location suspected to be the suspect’s hiding place at Kompleks Regata Paris in Pontianak Tenggara. After conducting surveillance at that location, the team determined that the suspect had relocated.
At the warehouse adjacent to the residence, officers successfully secured A. Hamid, alias Boy.
