What Is the Connection Between the Assailant of Three Pulogadung Petrol Station Workers and High-Ranking Officials?
JAKARTA — Three employees at petrol station (SPBU) 3414901 in Cipinang, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, were reportedly assaulted on Sunday (22/2/2026). The assailant allegedly invoked the words “general” and “regional police chief” during the incident.
One of the station operators, Lukman Hakim (19), said the incident occurred while he was on night duty. A black car driven by the assailant pulled into the filling bay he was manning.
“I waited and waited for the barcode to appear. After several minutes, he still hadn’t shown the barcode. I was getting anxious, wanting to speed things up because there were cars queuing behind,” he said, as quoted on Tuesday (24/2/2026).
According to Lukman, the assailant claimed the barcode he carried belonged to a general. He also mentioned it was the barcode of a regional police chief. “We didn’t want to challenge him either, thinking he was connected to a general. We were worried he might be carrying a firearm or something, so we stayed cautious,” he said.
The assailant suddenly became angry because the car behind his was complaining about the long queue. He then produced a barcode to fill up with subsidised fuel.
After scanning the barcode, Lukman realised the vehicle data did not match the car present. The barcode was registered to a Kijang, whereas the assailant was driving a Toyota Alphard.
“He kept denying it and kept getting angry. I told him to go back to the office so I could check with the staff whether it was permitted. Shortly after, when I asked the staff, he said, ‘Fine, go ask your staff then,’” Lukman said.
According to him, an altercation then broke out between the assailant and the petrol station employees. The assailant insisted the barcode he presented was correct. “Then, not long after, my colleague was shoved and had his head slammed against the man’s Alphard,” he said.
