WFA Rules for Private Sector Workers During Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr
MANPOWER Minister Yassierli has signed Manpower Minister Circular Letter Number M/2/HK.04/1I/2026. The letter regulates the implementation of work from anywhere (WFA) for workers or employees of companies during the Nyepi Holy Day and Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday periods.
The letter, dated 13 February 2026, was issued to optimize public mobility during the holiday periods surrounding the two upcoming religious observances.
“As well as to maintain work productivity and drive economic growth in the first quarter of 2026,” said Yassierli through Circular Letter M/2/HK.04/1I/2026.
The letter is addressed to company leaders or business operators throughout Indonesia.
“Hereby, you are encouraged to provide workers/employees with the opportunity to work from another location, or work from anywhere (WFA),” said Yassierli.
The implementation of WFA is subject to the following provisions:
WFA shall be implemented on 16-17 March 2026 and is expected to also be applied on 25-27 March 2026. The implementation of WFA shall take into account company needs and consider the potential surge in mobility from the return flow of homecoming travelers after celebrating Eid al-Fitr.
WFA implementation may be exempted for certain sectors such as healthcare, logistics, transportation, security, hospitality, shopping centers, manufacturing, food and beverage industries, other essential sectors, or those related to production continuity.
WFA shall not be counted as annual leave.
Workers or employees implementing WFA shall continue to carry out their duties and obligations.
Wages during WFA shall be provided in accordance with the wages received when working at the regular workplace or as agreed upon.
Working hours and supervision of work performed by workers or employees under WFA shall be arranged by the company in such a way that workers remain productive.
