The Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) of West Sumatra Province held a Socialisation and Direct Risk-Based Business Licensing (OSS RBA) Service event at Gizzella Hotel, Pesisir Selatan Regency, on Monday-Tuesday (14-15 July 2025).

The event was officially opened by DPMPTSP West Sumatra Head Adib Alfikri, and attended by Bakri Bakar, a community figure and speaker who is also a member of the West Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD).

In his remarks, Adib stated that the event was part of the government's efforts to bring public services closer to the community, particularly micro and small business operators.

"We hope that through this event, business operators' understanding of the risk-based business licensing process can improve, and the direct services we are providing today can offer real convenience in permit processing for the community, especially micro and small enterprises in Pesisir Selatan," Adib said.

The event also featured direct OSS RBA services at the venue, enabling business operators to consult and process their licensing directly with guidance from officers.

Meanwhile, Bakri Bakar in his presentation emphasised the importance of legislative oversight of public services by bodies such as the DPRD. He noted that such oversight is part of the DPRD's core function to ensure the quality of public services provided by the state, including licensing services involving the private sector.

"DPRD oversight of public services is important to ensure that service standards are met. The DPRD can also utilise research findings or opinions from independent institutions that care about the quality of public services," Bakri said.

He also encouraged the DPRD to establish partnerships with non-governmental organisations to maintain objectivity in assessing and overseeing public services.

The event received an enthusiastic response from the community and micro and small business operators in Pesisir Selatan. Liyusman Musliadi, a duck breeding and hatchery business operator, warmly welcomed the programme.

"We hope this event is held regularly, because the business permit process is easy. With just an ID card and a WhatsApp number, the permit is issued quickly," he said.

Amri Riza, a restaurant operator, expressed similar sentiments, saying the event was highly beneficial as it simplified a licensing process that had previously been considered quite complicated and time-consuming.

The event represents one form of concrete implementation of the West Sumatra Governor's directive to strengthen a public service system that is proactive, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of business operators in the regions.
