Simpang Empat - The West Pasaman Regency Government in West Sumatra is accelerating the rehabilitation and reconstruction of health facilities impacted by natural disasters in the region. “Repairs to these health facilities have begun with three priority units, namely the Sikilang Auxiliary Health Centre in Sungai Aur District, the Sikilang Village Maternity Post, and the Mandiangin Kinali Sub-Health Centre,” said the Head of the West Pasaman Health Office, Gina Alecia, in Simpang Empat on Friday. According to her, the work is being carried out by the West Sumatra Strategic Implementation Unit of the Ministry of Public Works, with direct oversight from relevant agencies. She stated that this acceleration is a strategic step to restore community healthcare access in disaster-affected areas. “This acceleration of rehabilitation and reconstruction is a priority so that the community can quickly regain access to proper healthcare services, especially in disaster-impacted regions,” she said. She emphasised that primary-level health facilities, such as auxiliary health centres (Pustu) and village maternity posts (Polindes), play a crucial role in reaching community healthcare, particularly in remote areas. This agreement is documented under number 05/BA-PB/Gs6/2026, agreed upon on 7 March 2026 in Padang, involving various parties to ensure the recovery programme runs effectively and on target. She explained that the agreement involves aligning data between proposals for health facility improvements in the master plan and action plan with on-site technical needs, ensuring the implemented programme matches the real post-disaster conditions. Additionally, the handling proposals have been adjusted to recovery priorities and supported by accurate technical data availability. Gina Alecia hopes that synergy between planning and implementation can accelerate the rehabilitation and reconstruction process effectively and efficiently.
