Manokwari (ANTARA) - The West Papua Provincial Government is preparing seven satellite internet service units (Starlink) to support the issuance of civil registration documents (adminduk), especially in 3T areas (frontier, outermost, and underserved). Dr Maria Ria Come, head of the Population and Civil Registry Office (Disdukcapil) of West Papua, in Manokwari on Thursday, said the procurement of these facilities is very important to support the smooth acceleration of adminduk services. ‘The province will intervene in the services of issuing adminduk to regencies, particularly areas that are still blank spots (no services available). The outreach effort will be maximal because there is that service,’ Ria said. According to her, the use of the product not only facilitates adminduk services, but also encourages an increase in recording coverage up to the issuance of electronic national identity cards (KTP-el), family cards, child identity cards, birth certificates, and others. The facilities can be used by Disdukcapil in seven regencies in West Papua that will conduct outreach visits to the 3T areas to provide adminduk services to the community, so that the progress of population data recording runs smoothly in line with expectations. ‘This can be used by district colleagues who want to carry out outreach visits to villages,’ Ria explained. Currently, she said, KTP-el recording in West Papua has reached 340,396 people or 85.42 per cent of the 398,491 eligible people to have KTP-el, then 185,534 or 97.93 per cent of the population have family cards, 42.20 per cent have child identity cards, and 50.19 per cent birth certificates. Realisation of KTP-el recording is spread across Manokwari Regency with 132,777 people, Fakfak 60,139 people, Teluk Bintuni 50,415 people, Kaimana 39,047 people, Teluk Wondama 25,018 people, Manokwari Selatan 19,606 people, and Pegunungan Arfak 13,394 people. ‘The region with the lowest KTP-el recording achievement will be prioritised for provincial intervention, such as Pegunungan Arfak,’ said Ria.
