West Pademangan Sub-District Launches 'NIB One Click' Service to Accelerate MSME Business Licensing
Jakarta – To facilitate Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) wishing to obtain a legitimate Business Identification Number (NIB), the Integrated One-Stop Licensing Service Unit (UP PMPTSP) of West Pademangan Sub-District has launched the NIB One Click service system.
Head of the West Pademangan Sub-District PTSP, I. Putu B. S., stated on Tuesday (27/5/2025) that the service system is an implementation of Government Regulation (PP) No. 24 of 2018 on Electronically Integrated Business Licensing Services.
The government issued NIB-related policy under Presidential Regulation No. 91 of 2017 on the Acceleration of Business Operations. Under these regulations, business operators can more easily obtain permits related to their business licences without the hassle of processing various business documents, as the NIB is a number integrated with various systems and legal requirements for business activities.
All business operators are required to possess an NIB. This refers to Government Regulation No. 24 of 2018 on Electronically Integrated Business Licensing Services, which stipulates that every business operator, whether individual or non-individual, must register their NIB through the OSS system electronically. For MSME operators, the NIB offers numerous benefits — with NIB ownership, micro enterprises can move up in class as they gain legal standing that can serve as a basis for capital in applying for business credit from banks.
Nationally, out of a total of 65 million micro, small and medium enterprise units in Indonesia, only 10 million MSME operators currently possess an NIB. According to data from the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) as of 16 August 2024, some 10,000,019 Business Identification Numbers have been issued across Indonesia through the OSS-RBA (Online Single Submission risk-based approach) system, dominated by 9,909,900 micro and small business operators, 28,303 medium enterprises and 61,816 large enterprises.
There remains a significant gap between the total number of MSME operators and those registered with an NIB. On this basis, the government is working to accelerate NIB processing for MSME operators.
The low rate of NIB ownership among MSME operators is also evident in the West Pademangan Sub-District area. Of the 241 MSME operators in the sub-district, only 133 possess an NIB — a rate of just 55 per cent, far short of the target of 100 per cent coverage.
The solution devised to address this problem involves the use of electronic media-based platforms to make it easier for MSME operators to apply for NIB issuance through the UP PMPTSP of West Pademangan Sub-District. The innovation aims to accelerate NIB ownership in the area to 100 per cent.
Previously, NIB registration was carried out independently by business operators, and there was no obligation to possess one, resulting in many operators struggling to use the system provided on the https://oss.go.id website and having to make repeated visits to service counters for consultations.
Under the new method, the service has shifted to a dynamic model whereby NIB applications are processed online using an electronic-based service system. With this service, business operators no longer need to visit service counters in person and can submit their applications from anywhere using digital technology.
