Mataram – The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police are investigating an alleged case of sexual exploitation involving a New Zealand citizen with the initials RMS, who owns a hotel in the Sekotong area of West Lombok Regency.

Kombes Pol. Ni Made Pujawati, Director of the Detectives Division for the Protection of Women and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking (Dirres PPA-PPO) at the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, confirmed in Mataram on Friday that the case has progressed to the investigation stage following a complaint.

“Yes, the report has entered the investigation stage,” she stated.

The West Nusa Tenggara Police initiated this action based on an assessment of the alleged sexual exploitation reported by three local citizens believed to be victims on Thursday, 29 January.

With the case now at the investigation stage, police have invited the relevant parties to provide clarification regarding the alleged sexual exploitation.

The victims filed the complaint with the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police with support from the Legal Aid Bureau (BKBH) of Mataram University (Unram).

Joko Jumadi, Head of the BKBH Unram, previously confirmed that the bureau was providing legal support to the alleged victims.

“In our report, we have attached evidence of chats (between victims and the alleged perpetrator), photographs, videos, and witnesses as well,” he said.

He explained that the BKBH Unram provided legal support based on complaints from the victims who came to the bureau and recounted the alleged perpetrator’s conduct.

Among the three alleged victims, one is a man. They were drawn into the alleged perpetrator’s sexual fantasies.

One woman claimed to have known the alleged perpetrator for quite some time and was even proposed to by him. Believing the proposal represented a serious relationship, the female victim invited the alleged perpetrator to meet with two associates of hers who were also victims.

When they met, the alleged perpetrator forced the victims to engage in sexual intercourse together. The perpetrator’s wife, who is also a foreigner, participated in the sexual activities.

Joko stated that incidents occurring in July and September 2025 were documented by the alleged perpetrator, and the BKBH Unram now possesses video evidence.

“So the perpetrator has a fantasy in which, when he sees people or couples, he wants to engage in sexual intercourse. He has a wife, and she has the same inclination,” Joko said.
