The West Java Provincial Government was named the country’s best Muslim-friendly tourism province at the Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) 2026. West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan received the award from Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) on Friday (16 October 2026).

“Alhamdulillah, the West Java Provincial Government is proud to receive the highest award as Indonesia’s number-one province in the 2026 Indonesia Muslim Travel Index (IMTI), presented in person by Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana at the prestigious ISEF 2026,” Erwan said.

West Java received a similar award in 2025. In addition to ranking first among provinces in the 2026 IMTI, it also received the IMTI Special Recognition for Best IMTI Performance of the Year.

Erwan said the achievement reflected the collective efforts of stakeholders in West Java’s tourism industry and demonstrated improved standards in Muslim-friendly tourism services. “This proud achievement is the fruit of hard work, reflection and close collaboration among all parties. Our goal of maintaining and improving the quality of Muslim-friendly tourism in West Java has finally been realised,” he said.

He said close cooperation between the provincial government, the tourism community and Bank Indonesia had led to the top award. “This award belongs to all the people of West Java. Let us continue to show the world our hospitality, natural beauty and comprehensive tourism facilities,” he said.

The 13th ISEF was held at JICC from 14 to 18 October 2026. The programme involved domestic and international partners in the Islamic economy and finance sectors, as well as more than 1,000 halal-industry players.

ISEF 2026 featured more than 100 in-person and online events, bringing together businesses from across the supply chain. These included trade and textile business matching, the Islamic Boarding School Business Forum, and national and international forums on halal products, zakat, waqf, Hajj financing and Muslim-friendly tourism.

West Java’s leading MSMEs

ISEF 2026 provided a platform for West Java’s leading MSMEs to reach the national halal market. Thirty MSMEs and Islamic boarding schools supported by Bank Indonesia’s West Java office took part in various events, including exhibitions, fashion shows, business matching, Halal Mart and Jawara Ekspor.

Their participation gave the businesses an important opportunity to engage directly with consumers, other businesses, potential partners and wider market networks.

At the Modest Fashion Exhibition, 14 West Java textile and fashion MSMEs had stands in the JICC lobby and Cenderawasih area: Dama Kara, YASA, Neu Men, Boolao, Klambikoe, Fustan by Dots Indonesia, Bellahasura, Himeca Daily, Awgorgeousin, Kirapassa, Netaly, Jofan Design, Artikala and Anggia Handmade. Six of them—Jofan Design, Artikala, Klambikoe, Bellahasura, Fustan by Dots Indonesia and Boolao—also appeared on the runway at IN2MOTIONFEST x JMFW 2026. Mom Aiko Store also took part in modest-fashion business matching.
