West Java Police Target 30 Uninhabitable Home Renovations During Ramadan
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) will begin a programme to renovate uninhabitable homes in 2026. The programme is intended to improve the welfare of the community and support social initiatives. Bandung Police Chief, Commissioner Aldi Subartono, said that the programme to build decent homes would be carried out in several areas of West Java, including in the jurisdiction of the Bandung Police. It is targeted that this year, Polda Jabar will build 30 decent homes, to be implemented during Ramadan 1447 H. “The West Java Police Chief is launching a programme to renovate 30 uninhabitable homes in various regions of West Java during Ramadan 2026,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (24 February 2026). Aldi explained that the construction of decent homes in his area would be carried out directly by the police force. He also personally inspected the homes that would be built, including the home of Enda (75) in Kampung Pasirsari Lebak, Patrolsari Village, Arjasari District, Bandung Regency. He assessed that the condition of the house, where the elderly woman lives, was concerning and uninhabitable. The inspection was carried out to ensure the readiness of the location, the completeness of the administration, and the accuracy of the target recipients of the assistance. Aldi also inspected two other residents’ homes that had previously been completed through the uninhabitable home renovation programme, namely the homes of Enjang (43) and Imas Tuti (39). This field inspection aims to ensure the quality of the construction and to see directly the positive impact of the assistance on the beneficiaries. He said that throughout 2026, the Bandung Police had built three decent homes for underprivileged people. This was done to support humanitarian programmes. “This uninhabitable home renovation programme is part of the implementation of the West Java Police Chief’s policy, which is in line with the Asta Cita programme of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the National Police Chief’s policy in strengthening the role of the Police as protectors, guardians, and servants of the community,” he said. He assessed that the programme is also a real form of the Police’s concern for underprivileged people and support for the government’s programme in realising social welfare. “We hope that this assistance can provide long-term benefits and further strengthen the relationship between the Police and the community,” he said.
