Bandung (ANTARA) - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has emphasised that the closure announcement signs for Diponegoro Road in Bandung, installed in the surrounding area, are unauthorised and lack official permission from the provincial government, meaning there will be no closure as of 30 April 2026.

This step was taken in response to conflicting information claiming that access to the heart of Bandung would be completely shut from 30 April to 7 August 2026.

Dedi highlighted the bypassing of procedures related to the installation of road closure signage.

Furthermore, he assured that public mobility in front of the Gedung Sate building must not be hindered by policies that have not received approval from top local leadership.

Dedi urged residents to remain calm and continue their activities as usual without worrying about any access restrictions in that iconic area.

“May we at all times be able to carry on our activities as normal, maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of Bandung, which is a source of pride for us all,” he said.

Although road access is confirmed to remain open, Dedi acknowledged that the government is currently undertaking landscaping of the Gedung Sate grounds.

However, he stressed that the construction process must proceed alongside smooth public mobility, even as it remains on target for timely completion.

“May the landscaping of the Gedung Sate grounds proceed safely, smoothly, and on time,” Dedi stated.

To date, according to Dedi, the West Java Provincial Government continues intensive coordination to ensure all infrastructure policies run according to procedure and do not cause confusion among West Java residents, particularly those in the Flower City.
