West Jakarta Tourism Office Holds Technical Guidance to Strengthen Tourism Industry Legality
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The West Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-department (Sudin Parekraf) has held technical guidance (bimtek) for the tourism industry to encourage entrepreneurs in the entertainment and recreation sectors to build a legal, sustainable, and inclusive business ecosystem.
The event, themed “Synergy of West Jakarta Tourism Business Actors in Building a Legal, Sustainable, and Inclusive Ecosystem Towards 5 Centuries of Jakarta City,” was attended by 150 business owners from various areas across West Jakarta on Thursday.
The Head of the West Jakarta Administrative City Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-department, Sherly Yuliani, stated that this technical guidance is a strategic step by the government to ensure that economic growth in the tourism sector proceeds in alignment with legal compliance and social responsibility.
“Through this activity, we hope that business actors can further understand the importance of compliance with licensing, maintaining a healthy and safe business environment, and providing protection for workers,” said Sherly.
She added that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to encouraging the creation of a tourism ecosystem that not only grows commercially but is also regulation-compliant, free from illegal practices such as drug trafficking and prostitution, and remains environmentally conscious.
In addition to serving as a capacity-building tool, the agenda also acts as a platform for synergy between the government and business actors in facing challenges within the entertainment and recreation sub-sectors, which are considered to play a crucial role in shaping the regional image.
To provide comprehensive understanding, the West Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-department presented several competent speakers from various cross-sector agencies.
Among them was the Head of the Prevention Team of the National Narcotics Board (BNN) DKI Jakarta, Afib Rizal, who presented crucial material regarding the prevention of drug abuse and Human Trafficking (TPPO) within business environments.
Furthermore, Ayu Dwi Wulansari from the Directorate of Business Licensing Services for the Non-Industrial Sector of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) RI, detailed the procedures for business licensing based on the “Online Single Submission Risk-Based Approach” (OSS-RBA).
Additionally, Yudi Saputra, a representative from the DKI Jakarta Department of Cooperatives, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM), provided technical education regarding the verification of licensing requirements for the sale of alcoholic beverages through the OSS-RBA system.
With this thorough training, Sherly stated that tourism business actors in West Jakarta are expected to contribute actively to realising a more orderly, safe, and sustainable urban landscape.
