West Jakarta Metro Police Deploy 1,300 Personnel for Operation Ketupat to Secure Eid Holiday Exodus
The West Jakarta Metro Police has deployed 1,300 personnel in Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026. Thousands of personnel have been mobilised to ensure that the situation during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr remains secure and conducive.
“The primary focus of security operations is protecting citizens undertaking mudik travel, places of worship during Eid prayers, tourist areas, shopping centres, and traffic routes with high congestion potential,” said Vice Commander of West Jakarta Metro Police, Akbp Rezi Dharmawan, following the Centralised Police Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026 troop deployment ceremony at the Office of the West Jakarta Mayor on Thursday (12 March 2026).
In addition to securing the mudik exodus and crowded areas, the police have established several task forces comprising Preventive, Preemptive, and Law Enforcement Units to anticipate potential security threats, including street crime that could disrupt public comfort. The police will also monitor essential commodity prices in the run-up to Eid to prevent hoarding and unjustified price increases.
Rezi stated that this monitoring is conducted collaboratively with the government. The aim is to maintain price stability for essential goods and prevent harm to the public.
Rezi urged residents planning to return to their home towns to ensure their houses are secure whilst they are away. The police are offering vehicle parking services at police offices and nearby police stations.
“Ensure electrical appliances are switched off to prevent fires caused by electrical short circuits. We are also providing vehicle parking services at nearby police offices,” he explained.
In case of emergencies, residents can contact the emergency line 110 for further information. Through Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026, it is hoped that all community activities throughout Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr will proceed safely, orderly, and comfortably, allowing the public to celebrate the day of victory peacefully with their families.
