Jakarta (ANTARA) - Various legal events during the week of 15 to 21 February 2026 drew public attention, including the Indonesian National Police's dismissal of former Bima police chief AKBP Didik over a narcotics case, and the deaths of three students struck by a train in Batang, Central Java.

**Police dismiss former Bima City police chief AKBP Didik over narcotics case**

The National Police Ethics Commission (KKEP) handed down a verdict of dishonourable discharge (PTDH) against former Bima City police chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro in connection with a narcotics case.

"Dishonourable discharge, or PTDH, as a member of the National Police," said Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, at the TNCC Building of National Police Headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday.

He revealed that the KKEP hearing uncovered evidence of violations by Didik, namely that he had solicited and received money through the Head of the Narcotics Unit of Bima City Police on behalf of AKP M (Malaungi), sourced from narcotics dealers operating in the Bima area.

**KPK probes link between Mulyono's concurrent positions and tax restitution case**

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the connection between Mulyono's concurrent positions whilst serving as Head of the Medium Tax Office in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, and an alleged corruption case involving tax restitution claims.

"Whether there is subsequently a connection to alleged acts of criminal corruption that were committed, or whether these served as modi operandi for manipulating tax values, or whether there are other modi operandi that constitute elements of alleged criminal corruption involving conflicts of interest — all of this is still being investigated," said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a statement confirmed and quoted in Jakarta on Sunday.

Meanwhile, he explained that the ethical handling of Mulyono, who held positions in 12 companies, has been referred by the KPK to the Ministry of Finance.

**Presidential Palace responds to allegations of logging-triggered flooding in Guci, Tegal**

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi responded to allegations that forest clearing triggered flash floods in the Guci tourist area of Tegal Regency, stating that the government had prepared follow-up measures through an investigation process.

"There is already an investigation team in place, from both the provincial government and the regency government. I have also been coordinating," said Prasetyo at the House of Representatives complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

He said the Ministry of Forestry had also been asked to conduct a review and evaluation of the condition of forest areas surrounding the Guci tourist site.

**Forest Zone Task Force reclaims PT Sukses Jaya Wood land in West Sumatra**

The Forest Zone Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) reclaimed 1,583 hectares of PT Sukses Jaya Wood's land in West Sumatra.

Satgas PKH Spokesperson Barita Simanjuntak said in Jakarta on Wednesday that the reclamation was related to the revocation of permits for 28 companies, one of which was PT Sukses Jaya Wood (SJW).

"This is connected to the revocation of company permits that was decided last January, and which has been followed up by the Ministry of Forestry," he said.

**Three students killed after being struck by Argo Merbabu train in Batang**

PT Kereta Api Indonesia Regional Operations 4 Semarang reported that three students died after being struck by the Argo Merbabu train whilst taking selfies near the railway line at GOR Sarengat in Batang Regency, Central Java, on Saturday.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Regional Operations 4 Semarang, Luqman Arif, said that after the three students were struck, the Argo Merbabu train made an emergency stop for an infrastructure inspection.

"After the railway crew declared it safe, the train departed again at 07.09 Western Indonesian Time," said Luqman in Batang.
