Weekend Land Services Offer Residents a Convenient Solution

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Weekend Land Service (Pelataran), available at a number of district and municipal land offices, offers the public an alternative for handling land-related services outside normal working days.

“I happen to work from Monday to Friday, so today (Saturday) I can accompany my mother to collect her certificate,” said Nyarmi, a resident of a village in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, according to a statement from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) received in Jakarta on Saturday.

Pelataran is open at selected land offices every Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 12pm local time.

The service allows Nyarmi and other people who work daily to arrange their land-related business around their own schedules.

Pelataran offers a range of services. Another resident, Muhsin, who visited the Bojonegoro Regency Land Office, intended to arrange the demarcation of his land boundaries.

“This is very helpful because I’m busy during working hours from Monday to Friday. Saturday is a great help. The process is also very quick and doesn’t take long,” he said.

For Muhsin, weekend services are a practical option for people who have difficulty finding time on weekdays. Residents do not have to leave work or other activities to access land services, as they can handle their affairs at a more flexible time.

Since its launch, Pelataran has been available at 107 land offices across Indonesia. The service has received a positive response from the public, who say it makes land services easier to access and speeds up the process.

ATR/BPN Minister and National Land Agency head Nusron Wahid has previously said that weekend services have become common practice at land offices in major cities.

“We are used to serving the public every Saturday and Sunday, particularly in major cities. Since many people can only deal with land certificates at the weekend, come and arrange your own certificate using Pelataran, which is easy and practical,” Nusron said.
