TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:A beleaguered global economy has weakened investment interest in Indonesia’s agriculture sector despite its natural resource wealth, said Deputy Agriculture Minister Bayu Krisnamurthi.

“Indonesia continues to promote agricultural investment, but the global economy is still weak following economic turmoil in Europe and the US and natural disasters in Japan,” Bayu said in Jakarta on Monday.

However, multinationals such as Nestle, which is building a milk factory in Karawang, are showing some interest, he added.
