Water supply temporarily halted

JAKARTA (JP): Water supplies in the eastern part of the capital will be temporarily halted or reduced throughout most of the coming week due to repair and maintenance work on the primary pipeline network, tap water company PT Thames PAM Jaya (TPJ) announced on Sunday.

Spokesman for the joint-venture company Pratiwi Ibnu Tadji said the disruption would occur from Tuesday through till Saturday in Duren Sawit, Klender, Sungai Bambu, Tanjung Priok, Kebon Bawang, Cawang, Cililitan, Kebon Pala, Halim Perdanakusuma, Bidara Cina, Kampung Melayu, Kramat Jati, Makasar and Batu Ampar subdistricts.

Pratiwi said the inconvenience would begin at 9 a.m. every day during the repair work, and suggested that consumers fill up their water tanks beforehand. (amd)
