Several motorcycle riders were reported to have fallen on Jalan Alinda, North Bekasi, due to slippery road conditions, caused by red soil spillage from earthworks for a project before it rained and turned to slick mud. Detikcom observed on site on Friday (6 March 2026): traces of soil spillage along Jalan Alinda. The spillage had partly been cleared, but mud remained at several points.

The incidents of riders falling were reported from the early hours into this morning. Some riders sustained injuries and damage to their motorcycles.

One rider, Echa (19), recounted the chronology of her slip while crossing in the morning at around 07:48 WIB. She said she was riding with her husband at a low speed, but the accident was unavoidable.

“I was already careful and my husband was moving at 15 km/h. I was surprised when my bike suddenly skidded due to the road being very slippery,” Echa told detikcom.

Echa noted that the road condition at the time was under construction. However, soil spewed from the dumping trucks was not cleared promptly before it was washed by rain.

As a result, she and her husband sustained bruising on their tails/ coccyx. She also witnessed other riders falling nearby.

“Many other riders also fell within a minute after mine; not only 1-2 riders, even a rider next to me had just fallen before me,” she added.

Similar testimony was given by Caca (36), who passed by in the early hours, around 01:30 WIB. She said she directly witnessed riders falling in sequence and being dragged along the asphalt.

“There was a Nmax moving fast and then fell, followed by a Vario that fell and was dragged, and three bikes behind that had severe falls, with body damage and injuries,” Caca said.

Bekasi City Transportation Agency (Dishub) officials at the scene, Yudi, confirmed there were riders who fell due to the soil spillage. He said the soil originated from earthworks for the construction of a school conducted in the early hours.

“Regarding the problem of many riders falling, it is true there was earthworks. The contractor said they were working at 1 a.m. There were workers cleaning the road, but because it rained, the soil spread,” he said.

He explained that the district office, Satpol PP, and Dishub had monitored the site. To remove the remaining soil on the roadside, they coordinated with the Fire Department.

“The contractor has contacted the Fire Department to clean the residue on the roadside. The middle section is now clean,” he explained.

The contractor reportedly will suspend earthworks temporarily if it rains again to avoid further casualties. “I already urged it. So for the earthworks, if it rains they will suspend temporarily. They said today through Sunday they will stop temporarily. On Monday they will operate again, but they will see the situation. If it’s hot they will proceed, but if it rains, they will not,” Yudi concluded.
