PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk has relaunched the Joint State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Homecoming programme for 2026, initiated by the SOE Regulatory Body (BP BUMN) and the Nusantara Future Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara). In this free homecoming event titled “Comfortable Homecoming Together”, Waskita Karya departed nearly 300 travellers to Solo, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Malang, and Surabaya. Corporate Secretary of Waskita Karya, Ermy Puspa Yunita, stated that the participants consisted of Waskita Karya employees, subsidiaries, employees’ families, and the general public. They were transported using six buses, with five buses departing from the Waskita Karya Building in Jakarta. Meanwhile, one bus was flagged off directly by the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, along with the Chief Operating Officer of BPI Danantara and Head of BP BUMN, Dony Oskaria, together with around 66 other SOEs at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) in Jakarta. Through this activity, the company hopes to assist and alleviate the burden on the public who wish to undertake the homecoming tradition or return to their hometowns but face cost constraints or difficulties in obtaining tickets. Ermy emphasised that the Joint SOE Homecoming also aims to minimise risks during travel. “This joint homecoming agenda departs from the high statistics of homecomers using motorcycles, which have the highest vulnerability compared to vehicles like buses. We also hope that the Joint SOE Homecoming will reduce the use of personal vehicles to reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector,” she explained. “This activity is a tangible manifestation of the company’s commitment to implementing social and environmental responsibility principles, while also promoting sustainable economic growth in Indonesia. Waskita hopes to depart more homecomers next year,” Ermy added.
