A letter has recently been distributed claiming it came from a "Team for the Popularization of Legislation on Customs and Excise of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Republic of Indonesia" located at Jalan Jenderal A. Yani No. 31 Jakarta 132230, in it which is said there is a plan to publish a book titled Popularization of the Legislation on Customs and Excise Affairs.
The letter asks the government, state and private enterprises as well as all related firms and suppliers of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise to "take an active part" in the project by placing advertisements and articles in the book.
In connection with the above, we would like to let the public know the following:
1. The Directorate General of Customs and Excise has no knowledge of nor any relationship whatsoever with the party referred to above.
2. Therefore, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise cannot be held responsible for consequences arising from any agreement between relevant parties (the government/private and state enterprises) and the party referred to above.
3. The Directorate General of Customs and Excise will not assume any responsibility for the content of the book which may indeed be published by the party referred to above.
4. The Directorate General of Customs and Excise wishes to take this opportunity to inform the public that it is planning to publish a Customs Directory 2000, which will be a joint publication with Warta Bea Cukai (Customs and Excise News) monthly.
5.
