Warm Atmosphere Surrounds Meeting of Former President, Former Vice-President, and Party Leaders at Merdeka Palace

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The meeting between former president, former vice president, former foreign minister, and the chairmen of political parties at Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, was held in a relaxed atmosphere. The invited guests of President Prabowo Subianto were seen chatting warmly with one another. This dialogue appeared to have begun as guests entered Merdeka Palace after breaking fast. In a video released by the Presidential Secretariat, the conversations flowed without hindrance. Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet were seen engaging with other attendees. Both sat side by side wearing coloured batik. Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin also chatted with former Foreign Minister Marty Muliana Natalegawa. The convivial mood was also evident when the party leaders sat alongside the ministers. NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh and PDI-P Executive Council Chairwoman Puan Maharani sat not far from Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Abdul Mu i? and Minister of Education and Culture Brian Yuliarto. After the discussions had continued for quite some time, President Prabowo Subianto appeared, joining the room with the former president and former vice president who had already been present. Behind him stood 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), 7th President Joko Widodo, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Vice President-11 Boediono. The ministers and party leaders who were already in the room stood in unison to welcome Prabowo’s arrival amid them. Prabowo greeted the guests one by one, before finally taking the seat prepared for him.
