VP Gibran highlights travellers' safety as homecoming traffic peaks
“I would like to ask you all to take care along your travels and maintain your health. To those traveling with children, make sure you have eaten before hitting the road. If fatigue sets in, take time to stop at a rest area,” he told homecoming travelers.
The vice president conveyed the message while flagging off the departure of 14 buses bound for Central Java and East Java in Jakarta on Tuesday. The trip is part of a free homecoming travel program organized by state-run holding company PT Danareksa.
During the event, he also conversed with several participants and handed out parcels, demonstrating the government’s commitment to supporting citizens in their journeys.
Meanwhile, Danareksa President Director Yadi Jaya Ruchandi noted that the program reflects the company’s contribution to the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure affordable, safe, and comfortable trips for the public.
In the 2026 edition of the program, Danareksa is facilitating travel for 1,900 people from 475 families, including workers, merchants, students, and housewives.
A total of 39 buses are departing not only from Jakarta but also from Medan, Semarang, Surabaya, and Makassar.
The 14 buses flagged off by the vice president in Jakarta will transport participants to multiple regions across Java, including Brebes, Cirebon, Tegal, Pemalang, Purwokerto, Kebumen, Semarang, Purworejo, Solo, and Yogyakarta.
At the same time, those departing from locations beyond Java are bound for Padang Sidempuan in Sumatra as well as Sidrap and Bone in Sulawesi.
