Volleyball spikes hack's reports

JAKARTA (JP): Beach volleyballs may look soft and cuddly but one spectator yesterday can attest that is not the case.

While chatting to a friend in the stands and not concentrating on the match, the woman was floored by a wayward smash by Indonesian male spiker Agus Salim.

Play had to stopped for a few minutes until the hundred raucous spectators stopped laughing.

What was even more mortifying for the woman was that she was meant to be covering the event for a certain English-language daily and clearly had not been doing her job.

"It's not the smash that makes me upset, but the way I felt so embarrassed," she said afterward. "I'm certainly not going to interview him now." (amd)
