Viral Yakuza Maneges sticker PKL stalls; founder denies extortion
In a circulating video, several members of the organisation were seen approaching PKL stalls along Kediri’s city centre. They greet, chat casually, then affix the organisation’s stickers to stalls or traders’ carts.
Gus Thuba emphasised that the activity was purely a means of introduction and to strengthen ties with the traders, not a form of extortion.
“Its main purpose is as an introduction and a form of camaraderie between Yakuza Maneges and the street traders selling along Jalan Dhoho. Jalan Dhoho is Kediri’s icon, given that Yakuza Maneges is based in Kediri,” he said, quoted by DetikJatim, Thursday (21 May 2026).
Gus Thuba ensured there was no coercion or sanctions for traders who refused to have their stalls stickered. The stickers were installed only as part of branding Jalan Dhoho, the heart of Kediri city.
Through this organisation, he hopes Yakuza Maneges can become a platform for communication and positive interaction for small traders in Kediri.
“Not about collecting money; rather Yakuza Maneges will hold social activities, such as distributing aid packages and so on, for all traders on Jalan Dhoho,” he added.
