A woman who went viral after being reported to frequently not pay for meals and online motorcycle taxi services has resurfaced, creating a disturbance at a restaurant in Central Jakarta (Jakpus).

In a video circulating on social media, the woman was seen making a hand gesture and attempting to kneel in front of someone, but the person immediately helped her up. The woman, wearing a black hoodie, was then taken to a room where Civil Police (Satpol PP) and Social Services (Dinsos) officers were present.

According to reports, the woman took food belonging to a restaurant customer on Thursday night, 26 February. The customer, realising their meal had been taken, lodged a complaint with the restaurant. The restaurant management subsequently confronted the woman and coordinated with Satpol PP in the Gambir district for further action.

Satriadi Gunawan, Head of Jakarta’s Civil Police, confirmed that his officers handled the woman. He stated she was taken to Duren Sawit Mental Health Hospital in East Jakarta.

Satpol PP brought the woman, identified as NSS (38 years old), to the hospital after receiving information that she was a person with mental health disorders (ODGJ). NSS underwent psychiatric testing. “Yes, she was detained overnight and taken to Duren Sawit Mental Health Hospital for psychiatric testing. We wanted to confirm whether she is indeed a person with mental health disorders,” said Satriadi on Friday, 27 February 2026.

The outcome of NSS’s psychiatric test remains unknown. Satriadi stated that Satpol PP was simply responding to public reports. “Satpol PP assisted after investigation suggested she was a person with mental health disorders, so we brought her to the hospital for proper assessment,” he said.

Frequent Location Changes

The detained woman had previously been pursued by West Jakarta’s Social Services office (Sudinsos Jakbar). The woman is known for frequently moving locations.

“According to information, the resident does move around frequently whilst committing these acts, so we haven’t yet caught her. Regarding the current attention, we will strengthen surveillance at our monitoring points,” said Fajar Laksono, Head of Sudinsos Jakbar, as reported by Antara on Tuesday, 24 February.

He acknowledged receiving multiple complaints and instructed Sudinsos Jakbar officers to track down the woman, who is suspected to be a person in need of social welfare services (PPKS).

“Regarding reports about this resident, we have followed up. On Wednesday, 21 January 2026, we conducted routine sweeps,” he said.

He noted that the tracking was conducted by the Social Services Supervision and Control Task Force (Satgas P3S) in Cengkareng and Kalideres. The joint team would take the woman to a social care facility once found.
