Viral Video of SPPG Partner Dancing Leads to Temporary Kitchen Closure: BGN Provides Explanation
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, WEST BANDUNG – A dancing video set in the kitchen of the Food Service Nutrition Fulfilment Unit (SPPG), claiming a daily income of Rp6 million on social media, performed by Hendrik Irawan, a partner in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme from West Bandung Regency (KBB), went viral on social media. The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has provided an explanation. The Head of the Regional Bandung Nutrition Fulfilment Service Office (KPPG), Ramzi, explained that the Rp6 million income mentioned by Hendrik Irawan is not profit. Rather, it is an incentive regulated for MBG partners as stipulated in the technical guidelines. “The incentive provided by BGN is a form of appreciation in this case for building rental and equipment; it is indeed regulated in the technical guidelines, but it is not profit,” said Ramzi when confirmed on Thursday (26/3/2026). Ramzi explained that incentives and profits are two different things. The incentive is the income provided by BGN to MBG partners as the cost of renting the premises and kitchen equipment. With this incentive, MBG partners are prohibited from taking profit from the cost of purchasing raw materials for the predetermined meal menus. BGN determines the budget allocation for one MBG menu at Rp15,000, with details including food raw materials at Rp8,000 for small portions and Rp10,000 for large portions. Operational costs such as salaries and energy at Rp3,000, and kitchen equipment and facility rental at Rp2,000. “For profit, partners or foundations are not permitted to gain profit from the price difference, whether from the Rp10,000 or Rp8,000 raw materials,” said Ramzi.
