A TransJakarta bus was involved in a collision with an online ride-hailing (ojol) motorcycle driver at the Jalan Gunung Sahari–Jalan Mangga Besar intersection in the Sawah Besar area of Central Jakarta. Video of the incident went viral on social media.

Footage seen by detikcom on Tuesday (24/2/2026) on Instagram showed damage to the lower front section of the TransJakarta bus from the impact. Meanwhile, a green motorcycle belonging to the ride-hailing driver was seen lying on the road, partially lodged beneath the bus.

TransJakarta Head of Public Relations and CSR Ayu Wardhani said the vehicle involved was an operator bus with the code SAF-083. At the time of the incident, the bus was in service carrying passengers.

The incident occurred at 08:50 Western Indonesian Time whilst the bus was serving passengers on route 10H. “The bus was in service at the time. All passengers were in good condition and were immediately evacuated to another bus,” Ayu said in a statement on Tuesday (24/2).

She explained that, based on initial information, the bus was proceeding in accordance with a green traffic light. However, contact occurred with a motorcyclist who allegedly turned suddenly in the yellow box area.

The motorcyclist involved in the incident was evacuated and received medical treatment at the nearest hospital. Meanwhile, no injuries were reported among TransJakarta passengers.

TransJakarta issued an apology for the disruption to services caused by the incident. The company is currently coordinating with police to investigate the exact cause of the collision.

“CCTV footage has also been handed over and we are committed to cooperating fully in the investigation process,” she said.

TransJakarta also urged all road users to observe traffic signs and prioritise safety to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
