A visitor to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) in Tangerang claimed to have lost their mobile phone (HP). They suspected that the phone was stolen by a rogue officer.

Assistant Deputy for Communication & Legal at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Corporation, Yudistiawan, stated that management has followed up on the report and conducted an investigation, coordination, and in-depth review with relevant parties. He said the phone has been returned to its owner.

The incident occurred on Saturday (2/5). Yudistiawan said the phone was returned to the reporter on the same day.

“The mobile phone device has been returned to the owner on the same day,” said Yudistiawan in his statement on Monday (11/5/2026).

The case was also immediately resolved through deliberation involving the accused and the party reporting the lost item. The loss of the phone was not pursued through legal processes because both parties stated that the case was closed.

“The party involved has been processed according to the applicable provisions. On that day, it was also stated as case closed,” he said.

He stated that the accused party has been processed based on the applicable rules. In the circulating video, the accused and the victim had already met in the airport area with Avsec officers also present at the location.

“I assure you it is not Angkasa Pura Indonesia staff nor airline staff. A certain rogue officer who was at check-in at that time, the reason was to secure it. In essence, the involved party has been processed according to the applicable provisions,” he added.

He said that Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is committed to continuously maintaining the security, comfort, and trust of all airport service users through supervision and ongoing improvements in service quality.

Management also urges all service users to remain vigilant with their personal belongings while in the airport area and to immediately report to officers if they need assistance or encounter any issues during their journey.
