A video depicting a tourist being asked for Rp 25,000 while passing through Jalan Raya Penelokan in Kintamani subdistrict, Bangli Regency, has gone viral on social media. The tourist inside the vehicle was stopped in the middle of the road by a woman.

In the video, the tourist inquired about the entry fee for the Kintamani tourist area. The woman who intercepted them replied that the ticket price was Rp 25,000 per person.

The post was accompanied by critical text: “Stopped on the road, this group is surprised that entering Kintamani now costs Rp 25,000 per head.”

“It’s been a long time since entering Kintamani required payment,” the tourist said.

The Head of the Bangli Tourism Office, Dirga Yasa, confirmed the location in the video.

“It seems to be on Jalan Raya Penelokan,” Dirga Yasa told detikBali on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

Dirga Yasa explained that Jalan Raya Penelokan in the Kintamani area has been a tourist levy object since 1993. Initially, management was handled by a private entity, Yayasan Bintang Danu.

Subsequently, management shifted to the Bangli Regency Government. Currently, Jalan Raya Penelokan is one of five paid tourist attractions in Bangli.

“Besides Kintamani, there are Desa Penglipuran, Desa Penulisan, Desa Trunyan, and Pura Kehen,” Dirga Yasa said.

This provision is regulated under Bangli Regency Regulation Number 5 of 2023 on Regional Levies and Taxes. Entry ticket prices vary according to visitor categories.

Based on the Regent of Bangli’s Decree, there are five entry points subject to tickets: in front of the Batur Geopark Museum, Jalan Raya Sekaan, near the special cemetery (trunon) in the south of Desa Adat Batur, Jalan Sekardadi, and one post on the south side of Pura Dalem Batur.

“The ticket post is currently inactive because the route is steep. It’s somewhat dangerous,” he said.

The ticket prices are Rp 50,000 per person for foreign tourists, Rp 25,000 per person for domestic tourists, and Rp 10,000 per person for Bali ID card holders.

Ticket collection is only carried out during operating hours, from 08:00 WITA to 17:00 WITA.

“Except for local visitors who want to pass through to another regency, or those who want to pray at the temple. Although there are some who claim they’re just passing through to Buleleng, for example, but stop at a cafe there,” he said.
