Video footage shows a dispute between a foreign national woman and an online motorcycle taxi driver over a fare that allegedly remained unpaid. In the circulating recording, the driver is seen collecting the fare from the woman, but she shouts at him in a raised voice and walks into an alley. The confrontation leads to pushing on the roadside. According to the narration accompanying the video, the foreign woman is said to have not paid the fare on several occasions. The argument subsided after a local resident helped pay the journey fare.

The incident occurred in Gang Blok D3, Dalung Permai Housing, Bhineka Asri neighbourhood, Kerobokan Kaja, North Kuta district, Badung. Locals say the dispute happened on Friday (6 March 2026) around 10:00 WITA.

“According to the driver, she ordered a ride from Seminyak to Canggu, got off at Dalung. But up to this point, the foreign national woman had not paid Rp 200,000,” one witness said.

The altercation drew the attention of shoppers from a nearby bird trader. “We don’t understand their conversation because it’s in a foreign language; the bird traders in front tried to settle the matter quickly,” said a witness who asked not to be named.

Another witness, Bu Erwin, sought assistance from a young person who could speak English to understand the situation. According to the foreign woman, the fare had supposedly been paid by her male friend in Seminyak, Rp 200,000. “She says she had paid at the start, her male friend paid it in Seminyak, Rp 200,000. But we don’t know whether that is true,” she said.

Even though the woman insisted she had paid, the rider remained adamant that he had not received any money. Tension escalated.

To defuse the dispute, locals borrowed money from a bird trader nearby to settle the fare. “I asked them to lend so I could pay the motorcycle ride; Rp 150,000 was eventually paid. The rider agreed, and he left,” Bu Erwin said.

The foreign woman had been living in the rental house in Bhineka Asri for nearly a year. She rarely communicated; locals knew her as she often returned home in the morning after nights out.

“She would only greet: ‘papi, mami, good morning’. We had even lent her money to pay for the ride, but she would return it,” said the woman from Tabanan.

After the incident went viral, the identity of the foreign national remained unknown, and she reportedly left the rental home abruptly in the early hours of Saturday.

The head of Bhineka Asri Banjar, Made Suarjana, said the rental home is now empty of the tenant’s belongings. “Around 1 a.m. she left, moved house. There are no belongings left. I didn’t come out earlier because I was ill at the time, but the neighbors reported the incident. We don’t know where she is now,” he said.
