Village Head of Kedungwinong Apologises, Promises No More Restrictions on Eid Prayers
The village head (Kades) of Kedungwinong, Miyadi, has expressed an apology for the disturbance caused by the restrictions on Eid prayers at Masjid Jami’ul Khoir in Sukoharjo, Central Java. He assured that there will be no more such restrictions in the future. The apology was conveyed after mediation with the Eid al-Fitr prayer committee at Masjid Jami’ul Khoir. The village side also apologised and will provide facilities if Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha prayers are held twice. “In the end, we agreed that the decision by us, the village government, LP2A, the mosque management, and prayer room committees throughout Kedungwinong village at that time, which stated that the Eid al-Fitr prayer activity would only be held once in Kedungwinong village. From now on, we agree that it must not be restricted,” said Miyadi, as reported by detikJateng on Friday (20/3/2026). He apologised because the decision to allow Eid al-Fitr prayers only once had caused a stir. During his tenure as village head, he claimed he would provide facilities and security for those performing worship on different days. “The utmost apologies for the incident that caused disturbance in the community, namely regarding the decision for Eid al-Fitr prayers to be held on one day and not providing opportunities for Eid al-Fitr prayers on different days,” he stated. “We, as village officials and the village head, will guarantee that in the future there will be no restrictions on holding Eid prayers twice according to each person’s beliefs,” he emphasised. Currently, the situation in Kedungwinong village is ensured to be conducive. Miyadi also requested prayers for better maintenance of harmony among residents in the future. “Alhamdulillah, in Kedungwinong it is conducive, please pray for everyone in the future to be more peaceful, safer, and more orderly. Thank you,” he concluded.
