The parents of a high school student in Karangasem have reported the circulation of an explicit video lasting 23 seconds involving their daughter to the police. The report was filed at Karangasem Police Headquarters on Thursday, 26 February.

“Yes, that’s correct; there was a report yesterday. We are still investigating it,” said AKP Alberto Diovant, Head of Criminal Investigation Division at Karangasem Police Headquarters, on Friday, 26 February 2026.

Before reporting to the police headquarters, the victim’s parents and uncle visited the Abang Police Station. However, they were directed to Karangasem Police Headquarters as the case involves a minor.

Upon receiving the report, police immediately took initial steps by examining the victim’s condition and conducting a medical examination. To date, investigators have not requested a statement from the student as her psychological condition remains unstable following the video’s circulation on social media.

“For now, we have not requested her statement because the victim is still in shock after the video spread,” said Diovant.

Previously, an explicit 23-second video allegedly involving a pair of high school students in Abang District, Karangasem Regency, Bali, circulated widely on social media. Police are continuing their investigation into the case.

In the circulating video, the teenage girl is seen wearing a school uniform. The school’s name was also visible in the recording. However, the location and exact time of the video’s creation remain uncertain.

Abang Police Chief AKP I Komang Gede Susiawan confirmed that the student in the viral video is from his jurisdiction. Meanwhile, the male participant is suspected to be from another district.

“The female student cannot yet be questioned as she remains in shock; we understand this from a psychological perspective and are not willing to force the matter,” said Susiawan on Tuesday, 24 February.
