Video of Ambulance Chasing Fortuner Goes Viral After Alleged Hit-and-Run in Bogor
A video showing an ambulance chasing a Toyota Fortuner in Cileungsi, Bogor, West Java, has gone viral on social media. The Fortuner is suspected of fleeing after being involved in a traffic accident.
In the viral video, a white Fortuner can be seen driving on the road. The vehicle is being pursued by an ambulance, which is continuously sounding its siren. The Fortuner’s door is also visibly damaged.
“Ma’am, hey, please stop. Please stop,” a person says in the viral video.
The white Fortuner stopped after being chased and blocked by the ambulance. The video narration states that the vehicle and its driver returned to the scene of the accident and met with the victim.
“The accident did happen; two vehicles were involved: a car and a motorcycle. The Fortuner was damaged on the right side, and the motorcycle was damaged on the front,” said Aipda Jaja, a member of the Traffic Accident Unit of the Mekarsari Cileungsi UPT, when contacted by reporters on Thursday (February 26, 2026).
The accident occurred when the Fortuner was attempting to make a U-turn on Jalan Baru Cileungsi on Thursday (February 26) at 4:25 PM. At the same time, a motorcyclist was approaching from the same direction, resulting in the accident.
“After receiving the information, we immediately went to the location to confirm. Upon arrival, it was confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the accident. Both parties were still at the location. We conducted a scene investigation, and then we secured both vehicles involved in the accident and took them to the Mekarsari Law Enforcement Office,” said Jaja.
Both parties are said to have resolved the case amicably. The driver of the Fortuner told the police that they intended to turn around and return to the scene to help the victim, but bystanders thought the car was trying to flee, leading to the ambulance chase.
“The victim suffered minor injuries and has returned home (from the hospital). Both parties have also met and resolved the problem amicably,” he said.
“So, according to the Fortuner driver, they intended to stop; they were in the process of making a U-turn, so they stopped a bit further away. However, the other party assumed that the car was trying to flee, but this is the Fortuner driver’s version,” he added.
