Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Anggawira, an expert staff member to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in the field of Monitoring and Evaluation of Oil and Gas Infrastructure, disclosed the outcomes of Indonesia–United States trade cooperation in the energy sector encapsulated in the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART), under the theme Toward a New Golden Age for the US–Indonesia Alliance.
Under the agreement, Indonesia agrees to import crude oil, refined products, and LPG from the US valued at USD 15 billion, with the Indonesian government requesting US support for the development of Indonesia’s oil and gas sector, including technology transfer.
Anggawira says the agreement also presents an opportunity to bolster Indonesia’s energy resilience in the long term.
For the industrial sector, the Indonesia–US trade agreement could be an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to attract US investment and drive downstream development of the energy sector.
