Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has called on the Idepreneurs Club business community to embrace and mentor micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) operators as well as startup entrepreneurs to build an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Vice President Gibran, whilst receiving the Idepreneurs Club board members at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, urged the business community not to focus solely on large enterprises but to also actively empower micro, ultra-micro and startup business operators.

"He advised us to keep mobilising and bringing together entrepreneurs. If some focus on large entrepreneurs, we were asked to remain attentive to the small ones, even those just beginning to take their first steps," said Idepreneurs Club Secretary General Ahmad Rifqi following the meeting.

Gibran expressed his belief that embracing small entrepreneurs can broaden the productive economic base whilst simultaneously strengthening national economic resilience from the grassroots level.

According to him, a solid ecosystem is capable of strengthening capacity and expanding the business networks of members, whilst also making government support more effective and targeted.

This aligns with the directive of President Prabowo Subianto, who has emphasised that economic development must prioritise strengthening the people's economy, improving MSME productivity, and creating new entrepreneurs based on innovation and technology.

Ahmad conveyed that the meeting also served as a forum for dialogue on MSME challenges, ranging from access to capital to market expansion. The Vice President assured that the government would continue to deliver concrete support to ensure MSMEs grow sustainably and move up the value chain.

Additionally, the Idepreneurs Club board members had the opportunity to share their experiences in mentoring small business operators who require capacity building, network access, and the courage to start a business.

The community is expected to serve as a driving hub for entrepreneurship that directly addresses the needs of novice and ultra-micro entrepreneurs.

"The small steps we are taking, according to him, are precisely the initial foundation to keep the nation's economic wheels turning," said Ahmad.

Also present at the meeting were Idepreneurs Club Founder Prianto Indra, Chairman Vincent Witarsa, Treasurer Satya Jaya Sakti, and 19 other members.
