Vice President Gibran urges strengthening of national gaming industry
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka urged the strengthening of the national gaming industry during an audience with the management of talent and creative industry firm WHIM Management Indonesia at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, as an effort to bolster technology-based creative economy in Indonesia.
“We discussed a lot about the Indonesian gaming industry and how it can become one of the pillars of the creative economy that contributes to advancing Indonesia’s economy,” said CEO and Co-Founder of ATTN, a technology-based digital creative company, Hartman Harris, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat’s Press, Media, and Information Bureau in Jakarta.
In the audience, the Vice President emphasised that the gaming industry has strategic potential as one of the engines of national economic growth, particularly in facing the digital era and global competition.
This meeting also aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita mission, particularly in strengthening the creative economy, developing superior human resources, and promoting technology-based innovation.
Hartman Harris conveyed that the Vice President is giving serious attention to the development of the domestic gaming industry and is encouraging industry players to continue growing.
“Mas Wapres is very attentive to this gaming industry. His message is for us to keep striving to develop the gaming industry in Indonesia,” he said.
In addition, various potentials and challenges of the national gaming industry were discussed in depth during the meeting, including opportunities for this sector’s contribution to Indonesia’s economy.
Hartman added that this audience is hoped to be an initial step to accelerate the growth of the national gaming industry towards long-term targets.
“Hopefully, in the future, the gaming industry can develop even further, and by 2045, we can truly reap the results of the efforts that have been made all this time,” he stated.
The government, through various policies, continues to commit to promoting the strengthening of the technology-based creative economy sector, including the gaming industry, as part of the innovative and globally competitive national economic development strategy.
