Ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 2026 celebrations, which are steeped in warmth and togetherness, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka invited children from the State Children’s Social Welfare Institutions (PSAA) Putra Utama 1, 2, and 3 to experience shopping firsthand.

The activity took place on Monday, 16 March 2026 at the Muku store located on the 5th floor of Blok M Plaza, South Jakarta, and was attended by nearly 100 children from the homes.

The activity is part of the government’s commitment under President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership to strengthen social protection and child empowerment, whilst promoting the realisation of prosperity for Indonesia’s young generation.

The heat of the Jakarta midday did not dampen the children’s enthusiasm. Cheerful smiles graced their faces as they selected the clothes they wanted. The store was filled with laughter and joy, reflecting simple yet meaningful happiness.

One of the children, Syifa Anisah, expressed her delight at participating in the activity.

“We feel very happy being taken on this outing. Being able to leave the home feels really exciting, so we’re truly happy,” she said with a beaming face.

The shopping activity focused on meeting everyday clothing needs. The caregivers from the homes welcomed the opportunity. One caregiver from PSAA Putra Utama 1, Rama Azhari, expressed hope that similar activities can be held again in the future.

“Hopefully, activities like this can be held again so the children can be helped to meet their needs,” he said.

Another participant, who went by the name Keiko, also expressed happiness at being able to choose clothing herself. She also conveyed the hope that similar activities in the future could help meet children’s school needs.

“Hopefully, we can also get things we need for school, like socks or other supplies. That is very important for us,” she said.

Through this activity, the government demonstrated its genuine commitment to providing national attention to Indonesian children, particularly those who need additional support.

The Eid momentum was utilised to foster optimism, self-reliance, and hope for the future among the young generation.
